Classification of Hazardous Wastes
EPA lists wastes based on three categories:
- Exhibits a hazardous characteristic
- ignitibility, reactivity, corrosivity, toxicity
- Acutely hazardous
- fatal to humans at low doses
- Toxic
- If it contains certain hazardous constituents.
- Listing is accompanied by a hazard code
