Equine Safety Tips
Never wrap lead ropes or lead shanks around your hand.
Always wear proper clothing when handling horses. No loose clothing or large jewelry.
Tie only on to solid objects and use quick release knots or panic snaps.
Always crouch when working on the lower legs rather than sitting or kneeling.
Always be aware of your surroundings and potential hazardous conditions that may exist.
Always position yourself with an escape so you will not be caught in a corner or pinned up against a wall.
Always be aware of other people (owners visitors etc.) and position them out of harms way.
When in doubt sedate a problem horse rather than wrestle with them
When you need to set materials on the floor set them away from feet.
Always expect the unexpected
Never put the horses safety before yours.
